Weigh-in

I'm not going to lie, we made a few bad choices but lets face it, who doesn't. Even with one night of bad eating ( We craved chips like nothing else) we still did well.

I'm still working on my fitness plan which is proving to be way harder than I thought. I'm trying to find sites that help you build a fitness program. I will figure this out.

We're still kind of sick but I really think by the end of next week we should be better. It's frustrating being so sick and wanting to do things but feeling so awful.

Here is our current weight

Carolyn:
Start: 258lbs
Last week: 253
This Week: 251
Total: 7lbs

Nick:
Start: 235
Last Week: 227
This week: 221
Total: 14lbs

Lets hope for a healthy and fit week!

Our Week & Weight-in

Hi everyone!

We've decided to weigh in every Sunday morning.

This week was a bit of a mess. Our kiddo is sick with the flu. Sleepless nights and lazy days for this Mommy. Thankfully he's starting to feel better. Sadly, Nick and I are getting sick now. I didn't get into the gym this week since our boy was sick. Once he's better and back in school I will be heading into the gym. I have been working on a workout plan and I think it will help to have a schedule.

So down to the weigh-in.

My starting weight was 258 I am down to 253lbs.

I could have done better this week. We had 2 days where we were so busy that we didn't make the best food choices. It happened and I wish it hadn't but that's life right? Back on track.

Nick started at 235 and is down to 227. He's doing great! I'm sure eventually he will do a post on this blog. I will get on his case about it.

I joined a gym!

I've been fairly motivated lately so I decided it was time to join a gym again. The gym I used to go has a great deal on where you don't pay a registration fee or anything upfront. They even cut their monthly price in half from when I was going. So I joined up again. I'm fairly excited about it. My goal is to get to the gym at least 3 times next week.

Let's stay on track!

Moment Of Truth

Being honest about our weight is a big thing. If we post our progress, we will be more likely to follow through with getting fit.

So here we go, Current weights:

Carolyn: 25Years Old, 5'7, 258lbs. Heaviest weight thus far, 293lbs
Nick: 31Years Old, 5'11, 235lbs. Currently at heaviest weight thus far.

Goals:
Carolyn: 150lbs-160lbs Pre-pregnancy weight
Nick: 180lbs-190lbs More muscle

How are going to do it?

We will be following The-Eat-Clean-Diet. It's the kind of diet we feel we would be most successful on. We want a diet that will be more of a way of life than a diet. We want to change how we eat and live.

As for fitness, We are still working that out but hitting the gym, swimming and running with our dog(Once the weather gets better) and fitness videos.

Doing it as a couple will help us. We have always done it solo and this time we are a team. We plan to be a power team and get fit and healthy and happy again.

How We Got Here

Our names are Nick and Carolyn Walker. We were married January 28th, 2007 as a skinny couple. After the birth of our son, we let ourselves get swept up in parenthood. Then we got lazy. Many attempts at getting fit and giving up. We are finally tired of the strain our bad habits have put on our lives and bodies.

We have a 5 year old son, who, when we serve a home cooked meal, has acted surprised. When we would to go certain places, he would know we would eat there. We spent tons of money on food and still ate out, wasting hundreds of dollars.

We hit a financial snag not too long ago and struggled to make ends meet and realized how much we were really spending on food. We bought some foods in bulk and make it last. We didn't starve like we thought we would. We just thought smart and bought the right amount of food. Since that realization,  we have cut down our eating out almost completely. In the last 2 weeks, we have eaten out less than 5 times. Before, we would eat out or get delivery almost every day. We were lazy, there is no other way to say it.

As I said, we had many attempts at getting fit and healthy. A few times we made some real progress but our motivation would vanish and gain all the weight back. Our weight is causing health problems or just making some worse.

We want to teach our son that it's better to eat healthy food and be active rather than eat McDonalds and sit around playing video games all day. We need to get fit so we can be around for our son.
